Problems
We have now reached our self-set deadline for securing our location and unfortunately we have not secured any of the locations we were looking into for our performance section. We had correspondence with The Trinity Theatre for a few weeks and have since stopped receiving replies to our emails to them. We have phoned them with no response, so we have had to rule out this location. We also spoke to the Oast Theatre in Tonbridge and the EM Forster Theatre in Tonbridge, both presenting us with issues that we could not resolve.Solutions
We have now decided to change our performance concept. Our original plan was to use the location and costuming to give a period feel, while the song and narrative provided a modern influence, encapsulating the clash of time periods with the visuals in addition to the track. So under this plan we would have:- Used period locations
- Used period costumes
- Had a modern narrative
Our new plan is to continue this idea, but to swap around the elements that create this visual collision of periods. Our new plan will feature:
- Modern Locations
- Period Costumes
- A modern narrative with period elements
What does this mean for our concept?
Our concept will stay the same in terms of narrative, what will change is our approach to locations. Previously we were striving to have a realistic period location, our new plan is to have a location which is very obviously modern, and to fill it with 1920's costumes and cultural influences,
We have decided to create a modern party atmosphere for our performance section. this will take place in a large outside space at night. We will create a warm and inviting atmosphere using a large crowd of people, lots of lights to light the scene and fill it with colour and fog to add a cinematic quality and even out the contrast.
We have arranged to do recces on the majority of our locations over the next week in preparation for our pitch next week.
