K.H. - Print Advert and Magazine Choice
- The print advert would build on the colour scheme used in the digipak, and whilst that was focused on a contrast between predominantly black colours used on one side and primarily white colours used on the other, the print advert will subvert by being in full colour while still utilising a similar colour scheme to the digipak, dark colours (black will still feature heavily), with emphasised reds and yellows, but these will not be block colours and the lighting will be created on set
- The image will be a close up of the star of our music video (without her fangs), holding a lit cigarette in a cigarette holder, sitting in a similar pose to the protagonist of the "Tangled Up" music video, with the smoke from the cigarette catching the light
- We can include a number of period details here through the prop of the cigarette holder and the costume
- Our magazine advert would be very well suited to Time Out magazine, which whilst very popular (it is the most widely read magazine in London, receiving 1 million readers a month), it places much emphasis on promoting different types of media and is willing to support up-and-coming bands such as Emerald - she has found enough success to achieve a half-page spread for an advert, but not enough for a whole page
- They have run pieces on Emerald before, this one promoting one of Emerald's performances: http://www.timeout.com/london/music/caro-emerald
