Group - Location Discussion

Acknowledging the scale of our concept, we have already started to look into locations that would be suitable for our video. We've decided to approach location hunting slightly differently to how we would normally due to the fact that we have some very key restrictions set by the time period that we are setting the narrative in.

Our method is to look for a location and secure it as soon as possible, tailoring our narrative to suit the location, rather than pinning down the narrative first then finding locations after.

Currently the options we are considering are:

  • A Theatre
  • A Bar
  • A Ballroom
Any location found would have to be local in order to allow the easy transport of crew, cast members and extras. So far we have discussed the possibility of using the Penshurst Village Hall, the Trinity Theatre, the Assembly Hall Theatre or the Royal Victoria Hall Theatre. The latter recently closed down and is no longer taking bookings, so it is unlikely that we will keep that a consideration for long.

Some more ambitious ideas have been The Rivoli Ballroom in London or a large Edwardian House that can be booked out for film shoots. We have contacts for both, however it is highly likely that the owners of each would charge a considerable amount of money to use them, which we do not have access to.

  1. This sounds good, hopefully we can find one of these suitable locations because that will go well with our genre era! The Trinity Theatre looks fitting for the 1920's too.

    1. Yeah, I think if we adapt our narrative concept so far to incorporate a performance, such as the characters taking part in a play and the woman is bitten during that performance in front of the crowd. That could work well. Plus the Trinity has a slightly Gothic look as well as the 1920's which fits our vampire idea.
