First Editing Reflection
Because this was the first time we had edited it mainly involved organising the footage and making sure we knew which footage we needed.
I started this process by organising our footage into different folders depending on which shoot it was (AL 1, 2 or 3). You can see this below.
I then started a new project saved in the Data Disk and began to sort through the footage. I used the storyboards that we had drawn to decide which footage was needed and how long it lasted for.
Due to the computer speed and the initial setting up and sorting out footage I couldn't get through much footage, and only got through 7 stills on the storyboard. However, this is what I did achieve.
I only achieved some basic editing in this lesson, but this included techniques such as:
- Dragging and dropping footage onto the timeline and arranging it into the correct order.
- Cutting footage to isolate what we were going to use.
- Muting the audio on the appropriate clips (only a few clips do we need the audio).
Once we have chosen all of our footage and organised all of it into the right place we will then start to look at after effects, colour grading and titles etc.
Here is a zoomed into photo of the timeline and what I achieved in the lesson.
