Our first day of shooting was on Sunday 25th October and covered the line of action taking place the morning before the performance. Our locations included Eleanor's house and some of the surrounding area.
- My role on this part of the shoot was to be the primary director and camera operator. These roles took the form of being responsible for directing Eleanor and taking charge of the composition of shots. Its worth noting that this was a role shared by the group but required one person to manage in order to achieve a consistent style of camera movement and composition.
- We managed to shoot all the footage that we required on the day without running out of daylight in the afternoon, which was a great success in itself as our progress in Eleanor's house was slower than anticipated. This was due to it taking longer than planned to set up each shot as the room we were shooting in was smaller than we expected, so finding the right angles became more difficult.
- Our plans changed a little in response to our progress during the day. One adjustment we made to save time was to delay filming at our actor's flat to a later date as there are only a very small number of shots required in this location, and instead we shot scenes that would have taken place around her flat in the rural area around her house instead. This doesn't affect our final outcome significantly as our only requirement for these scenes was that they should take place in an exterior location.

- Another way our action had to be changed slightly was towards the end of the exterior scene, we were concerned that we would run out of sunlight before we finished filming, so we decided to cut the sequence where our protagonist passes the second person on her journey and is tempted to bite them. Again this has no significant effect on the plot and the time here can easily be filled by extending the footage of the sequence before or cutting back to the performance slightly earlier. We have plenty of footage from both sections so this is unlikely to cause any problems in the edit.
- Overall then I am very pleased with the footage we got, and having experimented with effects on it a little we are leaning towards applying a greyscale and red colour scheme to this sequence to help separate it from the performance section and imply that it takes place before the performance rather than during or after it.
