Group - Aims for the shoot at the Pantiles

  • We are planning to shoot during the day as this will give us the most freedom both on set and in editing. We are planning to make this look more like night in post production.
  • We are hoping to maintain the 1920s period style which could present a challenge as there a number of motifs that are more modern in the Pantiles and it could be challenging to avoid these. This means we will need to avoid shooting near roads and prioritise alley-ways and locations which exclusively have motifs that match what we are looking for, which shouldn't be too difficult as we have planned the shot list around avoiding these areas.
  • The weather shouldn't pose a problem although it could actually be beneficial to the atmosphere and semi-gothic tone of our production if it does rain. Ironically the sun could pose more of a problem as this will be harder to mask the day light in post production.
  • This is the first time we will be using blood in a shoot, which we should be able to make some effective shots. One of the things our audience feedback told us to be careful of was making sure the biting shots don't look unconvincing. We have practiced the biting before during the shoot at Freya's house and believe it turned out quite well, but we did not do this with blood. Thankfully, most of the group has experience working with fake blood before, so we are familiar with the best way to apply it and remove it.
  • Balancing roles should be easier than the other shoots as we won't be so pushed for time, giving us chance to frequently change roles. As such Freya and I will be taking the lead on this shoot to compensate for Harry taking a lead on the other shoots.
