- My role in this shoot was primarily to manage the music by ensuring time codes were right for each shot we were getting, which was very successful as I had familiarised myself with the song before the shoot and did not cause any delays in shooting while preparing the music. Elanor also helped with this as she had memorised the lyrics beforehand and did not need to see them in order to perform
- I also did some of the shooting, particularly the shots of Eleanor and Harry passing each other, which I used the shoulder rig for. We decided to deviate from the story board here and shot in a small woodland area next to a field, which was more appropriate for the tone of the piece than the suburban houses in Noah's Arc where we were originally going to shoot the sequence. We deemed it too unlikely that Eleanor would meet more than one person in the woods and instead decided to flesh out the encounter with Harry more. We shot it from the perspective of both characters which enables us to cut between their separate reactions and will give us freedom with how to cut it, and enough footage to fill in the gap left by the second encounter that was cut
- Initially we were planning to shoot a small number of scenes in Eleanor's flat, but we realised it would be better to shoot this in Eleanor's house as well as it was more convenient and time efficient and the shots we needed in the flat were not dependent on that location, her house was similar enough
- Eleanor's house was a perfect location for our production as there are already a number of visual motifs associated with the 1920s period setting we are aiming to create, particularly the glass chandeliers, and general colour scheme, which was mainly comprised of whites and blacks that can easily be manipulated in post production
- Generally we think the shoot went very well, Eleanor played her part well considering she has limited acting experience, we used a variety of shot movements such as crabs, tracking shots, and pans, and the costumes and locations all worked well
